ZCGS Statement on 16 Days of Activism of Gender Based Violence

The Zambia Credit Guarantee Scheme (ZCGS)  joins Zambia and the rest of the world in commemorating in 16 days of activism against gender based violence. During this period, the company encourages the Zambian people to reflect on gender based violence against women . The company also wishes to see a Zambia that does not only end GBV but also accords equal opportunities to women in access to resources especially credit. It is for this reason that the company has deliberately targeted the issuance of guarantees to women through its partner financial institutions.

Speaking during the launch of the 16 Days of Activism to end  Gender based Violence , ZCGS Chief Executive Officer said it was the belief of the company  that women can only actively take part in economic affairs once violence against them is eliminated. She further went on to encourage every work place to ensure that signs of GBV both at work and home are reported so that the vice can be eradicated for good.

ZCGS therefore pledges to support   an end to Gender Based Violence through sensitization activities beginning at the company as well as to the public so as to play its part in implementing the theme:  “UNITE! Activism to end violence against women and girls”
